Blocked from Debates. Help needed.

Megan Mitton

August 24, 2014

As you may have heard, our leader, David Coon, has been excluded from the Radio-Canada debate.

We have just learned that David has been kicked out of both the Rogers English and French debates – to which he had been invited, and confirmed his participation, back in July. Something is going on here – one or more of the other parties doesn’t want David in the debates.

Your help is needed.
Contact Terri Willis at Rogers to tell her that this is unacceptable. / 506-462-3659

Even if you don’t speak French, contact Richard Simeons at Radio-Canada to tell him the same thing. / 506-853-6740

One more thing: Being blocked from the debates means we will have to work even harder during this election campaign to have our voices heard.  You can help by donating now

Discussion Points for Your Phone Calls:

  • Citizens have the right to information on all political parties in order to make an informed choice.
  • This is a question of democracy.
  • I demand that all the leaders to be re-invited to the debates immediately.

Subject : Include all leaders in the debates

Dear Terri Willis,

During an election campaign, it is imperative that citizens have access to information on each political party in order to make an informed choice.  Every candidate has the right to express his or her ideas and goals publicly; this is an important part of the democratic process.

I was disappointed to learn that a decision has been made to disallow Mr. David Coon, leader of the Green Party of New Brunswick, from participating in the debate.  I find this completely unacceptable.  For the good of democracy in New Brunswick, I demand that all five party leaders be re-instated in the debates.
